H-II Rocket (Equipment for aerospace research)
The H-II rocket flies to the outer reaches of space, carrying the dreams of the human race. TANABE products play a role in the field of space exploration, which is expected to expand further in the future.
Our compressor has been adopted to inject fuel into the H-II rocket.
Fuel can be injected while completely preventing the entry of foreign substances using a special compressor developed with technology that TANABE has continued to polish for over 100 years since its foundation. TANABE’s engineers conduct strict inspections and maintenance on this compressor at the Tanegashima Space Centre each year. Firefighting Equipment
Oxygen cylinders are worn on the backs of firefighters when they rush in to fires. TANABE compressors fill these cylinders with air, which act as lifelines for these firefighting teams.
TANABE’s technology has been adopted in the latest fire engine models. These special vehicles, called fire engines equipped with CAFS (compressed air foam system), have the ability to efficiently put out fires without flooding the site by injecting compressed air into fire extinguishing agents and small amounts of water, so that it bubbles like soap. It is a fact that TANABE products, with their collective performance, safety, and track records over the years, have been installed on these fire engines for the very reason that they need to perform reliably at fire sites where instantaneous judgements and actions affect human lives. Factory Equipment
Rivalling electricity, compressed air and gas are important power sources in factories. Compressors are used in various applications in different areas throughout factories and are typically used to work pneumatic machinery and machine tools. In addition to airtight test applications used to inspect products, TANABE products also hold a major share in moulding plastic containers. TANABE compressors are used in moulding tens of thousands of containers in our immediate area, including plastic PET bottles, containers for shampoo and cosmetics, such as lotions, and containers for soy sauce and health drinks. TANABE products are also used in industrial cleaners that thoroughly wash our customer’s products, parts, tools, and jigs, in every corner of the world.

Power Plants & Steelworks
Emergency backup power system is installed in thermal power, nuclear power, and pumped storage power plants. This system is required to secure the minimum level of power in an emergency. TANABE products have been adopted for use as compressors to start generators after passing strict standards. We have also built up a good track record for delivery of compressors for gas turbine control and power transmission switching inside substations, so it is no exaggeration to say that TANABE products are contributing to securing the safety of social infrastructure.
A great number of TANABE products are used for descaling in steelworks with ultra-high pressure spraying to remove oxide film on the surface of steel sheets. Our products have been recognized for their durability and are actively used even at sites with heavy amounts of heat and dust.

Ship Equipment
TANABE compressors have been adopted for use in about 25% of the world’s medium- and large-sized ships, such as tankers, LPG vessels, and ferries. Its main role is to start engines. Engines need to be started when beginning navigation and also when propellers are stopped because of rough seas. Trust from customers all over the world that our products will operate even at the height of stormy weather in the middle of the open sea has led TANABE products to be adopted for use in ships the world over.
Our products also play an active role in starting emergency generators and cargo handling facilities that carry cargo to land. The fact that we have delivered more than 860 units to the Ministry of Defense is an indicator of the high quality of our products.

SHINKAI 6500 (Equipment for deep sea exploration)
As the name implies, the SHINKAI 6500, a manned research submarine, can dive up to 6,500 meters. TANABE products have been adopted as compressors for raising this vessel, the only deep-sea submersible research vessel in Japan, that conducts surveys of the topography of the seafloor and deep-sea life.
The adoption of TANABE products in equipment that must never fail in raising a vessel from a depth of 6,500 meters to bring crew members back safely is a testament to the reliable track record and unwavering trust in the TANABE brand around the world. Our compressors are also used for the same roles and missions in equipment to raise submarines belonging to the Ministry of Defense.
